The Saturday Evening Club (SEC) a men’s organization founded in Valparaiso. In May 2024, I gave a presentation on the history of Gary, Indiana. Region historian, James B Lane asked that my paper not be able his book but more from my personal experience growing up next door in East Gary/Lake Station in the 1990s.
In 2003, member Pat Bankston wrote an op-ed in the NWI Times about the group: A Century of Gentlemanly talk in Valparaiso.
